Born in Costa Rica, this amateur photojournalist and street photographer has spent several years focusing on social issues. He has travelled the world extensively both on and off assignment around all over the world.
Images from the Rwanda War, Iraq invasion and the youth culture had a powerful effect on him and were instrumental in his decision to become a photographer.
In his professional career, he is a results-driven manager with a focus on solutions, specializing in organizational transformation. With a proven track record of supporting NGOs, UN agencies, governments, and international organizations, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening youth and volunteering development, advocating for human rights, and fostering educational initiatives across Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Americas, the Middle East, and Europe.
He possesses extensive experience in leadership development, capacity building, non-formal education, and knowledge management. Over his fifteen-year career at national and international levels, Andres has gained hands-on expertise in designing, monitoring, and evaluating development projects. He has successfully delivered results-based programs in over 65 countries worldwide, including Egypt, Venezuela, India, Honduras, China, Suriname, and Senegal. Additionally, he has conducted training and development programs in Jordan, Haiti, Costa Rica, South Korea, El Salvador, and Tunisia.
He holds a master’s degree in International Negotiation and Policy Making from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva as well as a specialized studies in Childhood and Youth Studies from the Open University in the United Kingdom, advanced studies in nonviolent conflict from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy in Boston and specialized training in conflict resolution. He is currently pursuing a PhD degree in Peace and Conflict Studies at the United Nations-mandated University for Peace (UPEACE).
His photographs have been exhibited in Geneva and Lausanne, Switzerland, and in Vilnius, Lithuania.
